Submitted by Lawrence Breault Holy Family Council 4386 Bursary Awards; Julia and Sam Rivard, Children of Brother Jeff and Ashley, are shown each with a cheque from the Holy Family bursary Fund. Each received $500 toward their post-secondary education. Julia is pursuing a career in Nursing and Sam in Power Engineering. Raised funds during Holy Lent to help 52 families with food baskets. They also paid the salaries of the teachers of a special school funded by charity for Iraqi children of families stranded in Jordan awaiting their immigration papers otherwise the special school arrangement was going to stop due to lack of funds. Submitted by Antony Zimbalatti, GK Council 14446 Mary Mother of God Recently, Mary Mother of God Council 14446 presented a cheque for $2,000 to the Oakville Fare Share Food Bank as part of our Food for Families Program. During the continuing lockdown in Ontario, Council 14446 Knights felt it was necessary to continue supporting this local charity which provides much needed food for families. Oakville Fare Share Food Bank is a non-profit registered charity that has been run entirely by volunteers. They currently service 700 households registered with them for support. Peter and Paul Last Fall our council decided to assist our pastor, Father Christopher Reynolds, in the purchase of a rose-coloured chasuble for use in our three parishes, St. Jerome (Warkworth), St. Alphonsus (Wooler) and Holy Angels (Brighton). The chasuble arrived just before the third week of Advent and Father was able to wear it for the Gaudette masses. Following the Laetare mass on March 14 at Holy Angels, Father invited several members of the Council to join him on the altar for a picture to acknowledge the event.

Peter and Paul At Easter this year I approached our Pastor, Reverend Father Mario Salvadori about doing a Diaper Drive (similar to the one we did last year), for Mothers day in Support of Birthright Mississauga. Father Mario was pleased to help us and announced it at all of the on line masses that he celebrates daily. A few of the Brother Knights got together after Mass to display the banner. A good way to start the Pro-Life Week, Sunday, May 9, 2021, with Mother’s Day. With the COVID restrictions in place, we can only have a few Knights wearing Face Masks and keeping their Distances (all have their first Covid Vaccines)
Submitted by Ted Gorski Francis J Clarke Council 5350 The province of Ontario is in pandemic lockdown since April 3, 2021 to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. Working within the provincial regulations, Francis J Clarke Council 5350 Knights of Columbus and their families held a community Barbecue Rib take-out dinner on April 18th to give our community families some pandemic relief and a chance to enjoy a spring barbecue.
Submitted by Ed DiZazzo St. Daniel’s Knights of Columbus As with the early Christians who found ways to continue their worship under threat, the twinned parishes of St. Daniel's (South Mountain)/St. Mary's (Chesterville) in Kingston Diocese adapted to the challenges of the present pandemic by streaming their Masses to maintain the vital connection with parishioners.
