The medal recognizes Catholics who exemplify what it means to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ. Food for Families Food Drive

Submitted by Patrick Bisera / Schubert Restituto Blessed Frederic Ozanam Many thanks to all who participated in this year's Food for Families program, the Knights of Columbus Blessed Frederic Ozanam Council 17065 received over 2,500 lbs of non-perishable food items and $795 in cash. Launched eight years ago, the council has been conducting this food drive yearly during the Lenten Season. The principal beneficiaries of this year's campaign were the Markham Food Bank and the Cornerstone Pantry, both in Markham. Submitted by Tom Mitchell St. Basil's St. Basil's Council 13442 in Brantford held their Lenten Food Drive on March 28th, 2026. Thanks to the generous donations from parishioners of St. Basil's church, we collected 2,141 pounds of food, toiletries and hygiene items. All items were immediately donated to the St. Vincent De Paul Brantford and will be distributed to those in need in our community.

Thanks to the dedicated support of Fr. Samir, council members were able to serve a delicious meal to more than 200 parishioners and their families. The event provided an excellent opportunity for fellowship within the parish community.
