Wheelchairs for Paraguay

Submitted by Denis La Salle, Executive Secretary Ontario State Council Wheelchairs for Paraguay. On November 6, 2020 State Deputy David Peters and State Global wheelchair Chairman Francisco Naar were in Toronto to view the loading of a sea container filled with wheelchairs for needy persons as well as emergency equipment for Paraguay. This was made possible by the generosity of Ontario State member Councils. We thank all those that participated and made this possible.

On Thursday December 3rd 2020, K of C Council 15999 St. Helen of the Cross, presented Community Care West Niagara (CCWN) with 48 New Winter Coats. The coats were donated through the Knights of Columbus (K of C), Coats for Kids Program. CCWN was able to order specific sizes and styles to suit the demographic of children in need of a coat. Food Drive

Submitted by Ray Francoeur DGK St. Helen of the Cross Council 15999. Food Drive. Recently, our Council was involved in a food drive back in September 2020 for the Beamsville Food Drive in association with the Beamsville Lions, the drive was very successful as we collected over 32,000 pounds of food to be distributed to the local communities in our area. In the picture facing the camera is our District Deputy Br. Mario Durand and other brothers who are in the background offloading and sorting the food in boxes.

Coats for Kids distribution by Council 7744

Submitted by John Smeenk Fr. Ladislaus Council 7744 Council 7744 in Blenheim have increased our participation in the Coats for Kids program this winter. Aside from our gaming fund raising efforts, we have reached out to the  community for sponsorship. With COVID 19 affecting the income of so many people in Chatham Kent, we have witnessed the gratitude these coats have generated. Submitted by Paul O'Neill Msgr. Paul J. Meyer Msgr Paul J Meyer Council 4916, Cambridge distributed Coats for Kids to a number of community organizations on December 8/20. Coats were distributed to Langs Community Outreach, Food 4 Kids, several Schools and St Vincent de Paul Society. Council 4916 distributed 12 cases of coats in total and GK Schmalz was well received.

Submitted by Ed DizazzoSaint Daniel'sIn late summer our Council fired up our BBQ grills and, adhering to all safety precautions, served up a no contact, takeaway BBQ chicken meal to an appreciative (and hungry community). Thanks to the many masked Brothers who helped out, we enjoyed a sold-out success. This allowed us to replenish our dwindling coffers, and in keeping with the Leave No Neighbour Behind philosophy, we were able to donate two boxes of Coats for Kids to the North Dundas Christmas Fund. Outdoor Nativity Set-Up

Submitted by Pierre ChartierSt. Patrick's FallowfieldOver 16 knights set up our life-size Outdoor Nativity of St. Patrick's Fallowfield which included our unique "Baby Jesus" that was obtained from Bethlehem and placed in the "Grotto Star" by one of our Knights on a previous personal pilgrimage. A few Knights also repaired the kneeling rails in our church while others set up the nativity outdoors!

Delivering Coats for Kids. Dan Duval, General Agent in Sudbury, delivering winter Coats for Kids at the Science North Hospital Children’s ward.
