In Ottawa, for example, our team was aided by our State Deputy (who had just returned from donating our wheelchairs in Panama) and our Membership Director. By the time a final count was done, they had secured 26 prospects and two transfers for Council #7873. Meanwhile, the recruiting effort at St. Rose de Lima Council #13244 saw 16 prospects. Fourth Degree Exemplification in Panama

Submitted by Bruce S. Poulin, State DeputyFor the first time in their history, members of Assembly 4004 in Panama were visited by a State Deputy and a District Deputy. The occasion for the visit was an exemplification of 43 New Panamanian Sir Knights. Assembly 4004 was the only Assembly in Panama when it was made inactive following the American military withdrawal from Panama on December 31, 1999 and most Sir Knights returned to the U.S. It was only resurrected by Sir Knights from the Fourth Degree from Ontario on May 25, 2024 and its members were formally exemplified on March 15, [...]

Our Lady of Fatima Council Breakfast

Submitted by Nicholas QuadriniOur Lady of FatimaOur Lady of Fatima Council 9742 (Ontario's leading council for membership growth), held a very successful pancake breakfast on March 23rd. Hundreds of parishioners enjoyed delicious pancakes and other breakfast favourites, all while raising funds to support the council charities. Many of the new members that joined the council in recent months were the key volunteers making this event a success.

Special Lenten Mass in Markham

Submitted by Bruce S. Poulin, State DeputyA Special Mass, supported by Knights of Columbus, was held at the Father Michael McGivney Catholic Academy High School in Markham on March 20. The High School students from this School were re-acquainted with Blessed Michael J. McGivney's legacy as part of a Special Lenten Mass celebrated by Most Reverend John A. Boissonneau, Regional Bishop’s Office - Northern Pastoral Region and supported by our Fourth Degree Sir Knights.

Wheelchair Donation to Servicio Nacional Aeronaval

Submitted by Bruce S. Poulin, State DeputyOn March 14, the Canadian wheelchair delegation visited the Servicio Nacional Aeronaval, near Panama City, and donated four wheelchairs. They will be using them to transport patients from the scene of the accident to their helicopter or ambulance to the nearest hospital.

Knights Supporting Panamanian Para-Olympics

Poulin, State DeputyOn March 15, the Knights of Columbus were invited guests to a Panamanian Paralympics tournament, where players for the national Panamanian team were being chosen. Club Activo 20-30 is one of the more active service organizations in Panama, and together, we have developed a distribution plan for more than 280 wheelchairs in Panama. One group being helped in Panama is the Paralympics Basketball Association.

Council 1926 donation to Simcoe Settlement House

Submitted by District Deputy Ken Cavanagh, District 37 Council 1926On March 14, Knights of St. Gertrude’s Council 1926 donated $1000 to Simcoe Hall Community Programs & Food Bank to help the needy in Oshawa. Past Grand Knight Ian Francke and District Deputy Ken Cavanagh (District 37) presented the cheque.

Charity-Unity-Fraternity Exemplification

Submitted by Dale TuepahDr. J. F. DunnSt. Mary's RC Church in Carleton Place, after the 11am Mass was the venue for a live exemplification. With around 50 in attendance, the Council 5153 team of DD30 Barry Nicholls, Chp Fr. Stéphane Pouliot, GK Dale Tuepah, John Cook, Brian Walsh, John Kordos, Mike Lalonde, Barry Fagan, & Bob Benson presented the lessons of Charity, Unity, & Fraternity. 3 new members were welcomed into our Council, with a priest from Council 3531 Perth. A lunch was served after in the hall, served by our wives. Vivat Jesus !!

Submitted by Fred Horvath Council 11268Clarington Honours our Veterans was initiated in November 2018 to honour veterans with a connection to Clarington with banners. The goal was to honour the contributions and sacrifices these veterans have made on behalf of our communities, our nation, the global theatre and to further promote remembrance in our communities. We started off with 20 banners and currently have 158 banners. State Deputy Receives OMC for Good Citizenship

But every once and a while, these anonymous gestures are recognized by a mark of gratitude that underscores their involvement. On March 10, our State Deputy, was the proud recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship (O.M.C.) for his service to his community (in large part to his involvement with the Knights of Columbus).
