Submitted by Marcel Lemmen, Past State Deputy Ontario State Council On January 28, the Ontario Knights of Columbus contributed a box of coats to the winter clothing drive held by the Catholic Women's League Council at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Winona. The winter coats were donated presented to Abby White of Good Shepherd Bakhita House which provides support to refugees and newcomers. Good Shepherd Bakhita House offers short-term housing to women, with the focus of helping them secure permanent housing. The program provides communal style housing, with meals and support services. The Scholarship Awards were based on scholastic achievement, community service, financial needs and personal hardship situation. Submitted by Ken Cavanagh, District Deputy #36 St. Mary of the People Council #8611 and St. Gertrude Council #1926 Food for Families for Christmas On New Year's Eve St. Mary of the People Council and St. Gertrude’s Council in Oshawa hosted their third combine Dinner and Dance Charity at St. Mary's hall. State Secretary Joseph Bodnar and the Oshawa Columbian Squires prepared and served the dinner, and District Deputy Ken Cavanagh was the master of ceremony. The event was a success and raised funds for the Councils charitable projects.

Submitted by Bruce SuttonOur Lady of CharityCouncils 1447, 7332 and 8602 in Thunder Bay came together this year to purchase 10 boxes of Coats for Kids and take advantage of Supreme's buy one, get one promotion. Through this purchase and promotion, Council 8602 was able to donate eight boxes of coats to Precious Bundles, a local organization that recycles quality used children's clothing.
