The dinner included cake and a live band and dancing. A good time was had by all and many said they looked forward to the next event at the parish hosted by the Knights. Well done brothers!

Thanks to the generous donations from the parishioners of St. Basil's, we collected 1,958 pounds of food, toiletries and hygiene supplies. All items were donated to the Society of St. Vincent DePaul Brant. All items will be donated to those in need in the community.

By way of comparison, the last fraternal year, the members of this Council had recruited five members and missed their Star Council award by one new member. The difference this year was that this Council's recruiting efforts were supported by the senior leadership in accordance with our State Deputy's Monthly Membership Growth Calendar action plan. The event featured a montage of photos, cake and a live band to entertain. as usual the members of Council 8951 put in an extraordinary effort and it showed. A new executive was elected. Some of the 30 members who had gathered for the meeting also called for a resumption of their Columbian Service Day. Finally, two candidates running for the position of State Warden also spoke to those present.

The meeting saw the election of a new Executive as well as the nomination of a delegate for the next Supreme Convention being held in Washington, D.C., this coming August.

Remarks were made by Bruce Sutton, District Deputy, Rob Neff of Special Olympics Thunder Bay and Mayor Ken Boschcoff, who is also a Knight. Following a cheque presentation from the councils to Special Olympics Thunder Bay, world class SO athlete Noah Filice raised the flag outside.
