Knights from other councils throughout the district joined in to help with setup, the food tent and cleanup. It was a fantastic day of soccer, teamwork and community spirit, and a very successful event overall! 👏 Thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success! 💙

Jesus the King Annual Church Summer Festival is always celebrated on the Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord Jesus Christ at the beginning of August. The lawns of the Cathedral of Transfiguration in Markham are transformed with tents, stages, bouncing castles and kitchens to accommodate more than 5000 visitors over three days. McGivney a special service was held at the McGivney site located at Heavenly Rest Cemetery in Windsor, On. A service was held inside the St. Francis Mausoleum, presided by Fr. Gary Goyeau. Submitted by Mike Noël Father Hugh MacKinnon On June 28th, Council 8192 in Elmira, gathered to celebrate a special mass honouring the 75th anniversary of the ordination of their council’s namesake, Father Hugh MacKinnon (1919-1981). The mass was also held to honour the deceased members of the council, recognizing their faithful service and lasting contributions. Father MacKinnon was known for championing the values of hard work, preparation, and determination—principles that continue to inspire and guide the spirit of Council #8192 today. The event recognized and celebrated the dedicated volunteers whose efforts play a vital role in the success of game-day operations, including running concession stands, assisting with stadium cleanups, and organizing 50/50 draws. State Treasurer Joseph Bodnar recently presented a $1,000 cheque to Marian Brady of the St. Vincent de Paul Society – St. Joseph the Worker Conference in Oshawa.
