Substance Abuse Poster Contest Program

The Substance Abuse Awareness Poster Contest, provides the youth in our community with an opportunity to be creative and aware of the issues directly affecting them. Entries must fall under one of these two topics: Alcohol Awareness and Abuse & Drug Awareness and Abuse. Each poster must include one topic only and be an original visual image. The Substance Abuse Awareness Poster Contest is open to all young people between the ages of 8 and 14 years. It can be easily promoted to schools, CYO’s and Columbian Squires’ circles.

All the materials needed to participate in the Substance Abuse Awareness Poster Contest are included, in the Substance Abuse Awareness Poster KIT (#SA-Kit). These can be found here. Included in the kit is the entry form/Judging sheet (#4000), promotional posters (#4537), Substance Abuse Awareness Program Guide (#4112), participation certificates (#4016), winner certificates (#4015) and Substance Abuse Awareness Poster Contest report (#4001)

Each entry should reflect the theme, student’s original work including concept, layout, slogan and any visual images of a single person and be submitted by the published deadline. Poster size must be on 11”X 17”, in black or white or in color. If pastels, chalk or charcoal are used, it must be laminated. In addition, each entry must be submitted with contest entry form (#4000), with the name and age of the participant on the back of the poster. All entries become the property of the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council and posters will not be returned.

Judging is based on 100 point scoring system and the judges can be members of council, clergy or members of the community, law enforcement personnel.
