Submitted by Gordon Bell Our Lady of the LakeCouncil 4917 is proud to advise that Bernard Prevost represented the WW11 veterans of Niagara and the Knights of Columbus at the Remembrance Day ceremonies in Grimsby. At 96, Bernie, is the last surviving WW11 veteran in the Niagara region and the last surviving charter member of Our Lady of the Lake Grimsby Council 4917. At the age of 20, Bernie’s regiment, the Stormont Dundas Glengarry Highlanders, stormed the beaches during the northern France offensive against Germany. Submitted by SK Wilfred GomezSt.Aidan CouncilSt. Aidan Council # 11332, teamed up and cooked the best spaghetti meat sauce in Town for parishioners of St. Aidan Church. This was a fundraiser held on Nov. 7 & 8 after all Masses. The Chef SK Mike Wo Kai Sang and his wife Lady Jackie tirelessly cooked the best spaghetti sauce. The fundraiser was organized at the request of our Parish Priest Fr. Steven Szakaczki to support ShareLife, SVDP and KofC charities. "Many hands make for less work"! All of them wore face masks to assure that our pandemic medical guidelines were followed. Great camaraderie was had by all!

Over 250 meals were prepared and delivered using a drive thru method keeping everyone distanced and safe. The funds made will help future local community ventures.

Recently the Three Knights of Columbus Councils joined to our New Parish Family the Perth Huron Crossroad Family of Parishes which includes Kinkora St Patrick’s (10655), Mitchell St Vincent DePaul (9252), Dublin St Patrick’s and St James Seaforth (5289) joined forces with the local Rotary Club, and the Food Bank Organization the Salvation Army to collect prepared food bags for our community Food Bank. Submitted by Todd FortinHoly CrossOn Saturday October 17, 2020 Holy Cross Council 5333 Kemptville, held a Coats for Kids distribution event. Due to COVID restrictions and with the encouragement of our Pastor, the event was held in the glass walled Narthex of Holy Cross Church. Clients could drive up under the covered portico to view the coats from inside their car and then decide which coat they wanted from a safe distance.
