District Deputy #35 Basketball Free Throw Tournament

Submitted by Mike Sabo, District Deputy #35 Ontario State Council District 35 held their Basketball Free Throw Tournament on February 7. Around twenty members from Council #1504, 5135 (New Hamburg), #9276 (Kitchener) , and #18671 (Waterloo) were present to assist with setup and support throughout the event. A total of 54 students from eight schools competed in this exciting and engaging tournament. It was a successful event, and we couldn’t have done it without our dedicated brothers. Well done!

Coats donated to Good Shepherd Bakhita House

Submitted by Marcel Lemmen, Past State Deputy Ontario State Council On January 28, the Ontario Knights of Columbus contributed a box of coats to the winter clothing drive held by the Catholic Women's League Council at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Winona. The winter coats were donated presented to Abby White of Good Shepherd Bakhita House which provides support to refugees and newcomers. Good Shepherd Bakhita House offers short-term housing to women, with the focus of helping them secure permanent housing. The program provides communal style housing, with meals and support services. The Scholarship Awards were based on scholastic achievement, community service, financial needs and personal hardship situation.
