Granottier Council 2092 held a very successful “Solidarity” Chili Supper in support of the Owen Sound Hunger and Relief Effort (OSHaRE) to kick off their 2017 “40 Cans For Lent” campaign . The spark plugs behind “40 Cans for Lent” are Past Grand Knight James Hachey and Financial Secretary, Jim Cummings. The idea of a simple, straightforward one-can-per-day donation is inspired by Christ’s 40 days of fasting in the desert. This annual event is always well received by the parishioners with parts of the proceeds going to help fund the needs of the church plus other activities.

Submitted by SK Hikmat Dandan, Past Grand KnightJESUS THE KING VALENTINE KNIGHT On Saturday February 11th, Jesus The King Council 15045 celebrated their annual Valentine Knight. The St. George Banquet Hall was full with Knights, parishioners and their families, more than 250 seats. The live entertainment, and Brazilian dancing show was spectacular. The Knights and their ladies belly danced and did salsa as well. Red roses filled all the tables. The food was a mix of Middle Eastern appetizers and main course of chicken and beef. Submitted by Danny Spano, Grand Knight and District Warden #86On Feb 15, 2017, together with the Knights of Columbus and Mayor Jeff Lehman, Barrie athletes Sam, Jade, Belinda and PJ helped raise the flag that is part of the Knight of Columbus Flag Relay. Flags are travelling across Ontario and will come together at the School Champs event in Niagara in June. Great thanks to the ongoing support of Special Olympics province-wide by the Knights of Columbus!
