The beautiful newly expanded St Mark’s church in Stouffville was made possible through the generous support of His Eminence, Thomas Cardinal Collins, the Archdiocese faithful, and the parish family of St. Mark’s through the Family of Faith campaign. At the rededication mass celebration, by His Eminence The Cardinal, Father Michael Hughes mentioned the history of founding the church in 1979. The expansion was also only made possible with many professionals volunteering and gifting their services and the generous donations of parishioners. Salt and Light Catholic Media Foundation generously donated a relic from St. Maria Goretti, which was placed in the Altar. Throughout the period of reconstruction, the liturgical, pastoral, community and sacramental life of the parish continued unaffected, for the most part thanks to the support of other churches and the hospitality of St. Mark’s Catholic Elementary School. His Eminence rededicated and blessed the church, while the special event combined choir sang the hymns. The Knights of Columbus provided an impressive Honor Guard under Commander Sir Knight Sal Lombardo with Sir Knights from three assemblies, St John Paul II Assembly, All Saints of China Assembly & Bishop Charles P. Greco Assembly. GK Nicholas Quadrini and members of St. Mark’s Council took care of Ushering, Collection, Offertory and provided welcoming and hospitality assistance as well as providing St. Michael the Archangel (Patron of the Archdiocese) Prayer Cards from the Supreme Council to parishioners.
