After the mass, Father Edward Smith handed to the attending sponsors, the files of their students containing the student profile, grades, thank you card, a letter from the Melkite Catholic Patriarchal School principal as well as a letter from the Most Reverend Melkite Catholic Archbishop of Jerusalem Joseph Jules Zerey. Toronto Council, the Gold Sponsor, sponsoring 6 students, was represented by Sir Knight Peter Legris. Mr. Michael & Mrs Jeanette Zerey Elliot were the Silver Sponsors, sponsoring 4 students.
St. Robert Catholic School was the first school to sponsor a student. St. Patrick’s Council, North York Council, Jesus The King Council, St. Mark’s Council, St. Justin Martyr Council, Oak Ridges Council, St. Clare of Assisi Council and many other knights and parishioners also sponsored around 65 students, C$ 28,250 was sent in sponsored tuition fees to the school in 2016, and so far more than C$ 75,000 was sent since the start of the project, however 123 students still need to be helped.
