Rick Charlebois stood at the podium set up at Earl Porter Lanes with a gentle smirk and a twinkle in his eye. He addressed the attendees of the Slice of the Pie event with warmth, personality, and authenticity. Rick is the Grand Knight, i.e. the president, of the Iroquois Falls Council of the Knights of Columbus and it is easy to see why he holds this position of leadership. The Knights of Columbus are a Catholic fraternal organization that is committed to serving the church, community, families, youth, and beyond. Several of the Knights were unable to attend the event because they were busy serving at a funeral or rending similar compassionate work. There is always work to be done and the Knights do what they can to answer the call.

The Slice of the Pie event was held to lend financial support to local Charities, Non-Profits, and other worthwhile community organizations and entities. Profits from fundraising activities, referred to as “the pie,” by the Knights of Columbus were divvied up and donated to the various groups in attendance.
