The Knights of Columbus have a strong history with the Special Olympics so when the opportunity came for us to support a local Special Olympian athlete, we could not refuse. Nathan is a member of the Region 8 Basketball team that will be travelling to Guelph at the end of May. He plays basketball on his net at his house every day and Brother Dean Broennle was constantly fixing his old net until the day came where it was beyond repair. Council 9295 purchased Nathan a new net and Brothers Dean Broennle, John Reguly and Grand Knight Wesley Ramage braved the cold, the rain and even some hail to set it up. As you can see the end result was one very happy athlete. Our council wishes Nathan good luck in his upcoming regional Special Olympics basketball tournament.
