Smith Squire Circle 4742 gathered to march in the City of Oshawa Remembrance Day parade to remember the men and women who gave their lives to protect the freedoms we enjoy today. Council 15999 Coats for Kids Donation

Submitted by Ray Francoeur, Grand Knight St. Helen the Cross Council 15999 On October 27th, St. Helen the Cross Council 15999 presented 7 boxes of winter coats to Community Care West Niagara. They were extremely happy to receive them, as the cold weather is fast approaching. At the same time a cheque was presented in the amount of $500 to support their Food Drive. Further, our Council presented a cheque for their Food Drive, so they could purchase badly needed food and produce.

Nowhere is the influence of the local parish priest more evident than with Father Eugene O'Reilly Council 4973 at Saint Mary's Church in Brampton (ON). Coats for Kids donation

Submitted by KofC Ontario State Council Each year the Ontario State Board officers distribute 2 boxes of coats to the needy children in their area of residence. This year State Treasurer, Joe Bodnar, was asked by St. Joseph the Worker St. Vincent de Paul Society for some assistance in providing coats for the families applying for assistance.

Councils Gather for the Miriam Center Fundraiser Dinner

Submitted by KofC Ontario State Council On the Saturday October 21, almost 200 hundred parishioners from Ottawa and Orleans gather for the annual steak dinner fundraising event for the Miriam Center. Four councils hosted the event, Councils #5925 (Orléans) , #7873 (Divine Infant), #9005 (Good Shepherd), and 11500 (Sainte Marie d'Orléans), provided all the volunteers needed to make this event a success. Archbishop Fundraiser Dinner

Submitted by Ron Hut, MIO Ontario State Council Members of the Knights of Columbus in the Ottawa area gathered on October 14, 2023 to celebrate Columbus Day with a fundraising dinner for the Archbishop of Ottawa-Cornwall and State Chaplain of the Order, Bishop Marcel Damphousse. Almost 150 Knights attended the event and raised approximately $3,700.00 for His Grace." Submitted by  Jim Galvin, Deputy Grand Knight St. Ann Canadian's all know the value of warm Winter clothing. Sadly, not all have the means for this Canadian necessity. The Coats for Kids program ensures that no child in need goes without a winter coat. Through the efforts of KoC St. Ann's Council #10009 we've ensured that so many children will not go without this coming Winter season. This year, the 11 boxes of new winter jackets were donated to the Hamilton Wentworth Catholic District School Board and  Peel District School Board. #SpreadingtheWarmth

Parish Food Drive Update

Submitted by GK Joe Crane Pieta Council 6026 The Georgetown Knights of Columbus were notified by the local Georgetown Bread Basket on September 14th that their requirements were steadily increasing and that they would be in need for the Thanksgiving weekend. In cooperation with Father David Walter, our Pastor and Chaplain,  we made arrangements with the CWL, and our parish secretary placed notices in our parish bulletin. Food donation bags from the Georgetown Bread Basket were provided after masses on the  two weekends prior September 30th.
