//Parish Food Drive Update
Submitted by GK Joe Crane
Pieta Council 6026

The Georgetown Knights of Columbus were notified by the local Georgetown Bread Basket on September 14th that their requirements were steadily increasing and that they would be in need for the Thanksgiving weekend. In cooperation with Father David Walter, our Pastor and Chaplain,  we made arrangements with the CWL, and our parish secretary placed notices in our parish bulletin. Food donation bags from the Georgetown Bread Basket were provided after masses on the  two weekends prior September 30th. The food containers were in turn filled and returned for October 1st delivery to the Georgetown Bread Basket.

Our Knights, in contact with a local realtor, provided a pod to collect the donations at the entrance to our Holy Cross parish church on the weekend of September 30th. Parish volunteers, CWL and KofC Piera Council 6026 collected the donations and delivered them to the Georgetown Bread Basket.

In total Holy Cross Parish community donated 4,200 pounds of much needed food items to the Georgetown Bread Basket in time for distribution to their clients for the Thanksgiving weekend.
