Submitted by Jim Cummings, Financial SecretaryCouncil 2092 Owen Sound Knights, James Hachey, Wayne Hillyer & John Lewis are photographed here with course preparation & medical aid coordinator Robyn Wilson, while working as the "On Route Support Team" at the annual “Ride Don’t Hide” cycling event for the Canadian Mental Health Association, Grey Bruce branch which was held June 24th The Grey-Bruce ride with 260 participants, 65 volunteers, 40 sponsors and 800 donors raised a total of $ 60,563 for mental health programs in the Grey Bruce area Thank you Owen Sound Knights of Columbus for your continued support.

This past Lent over 1,000 pounds of canned & packaged food plus $ 2,255 in cash was donated. The food will be distributed by St Mary's & Missions Catholic Charities to needy families, various emergency food pantrys and kitchens in the Owen Sound area and the cash will be donated to the Owen Sound Hunger & Relief Effort (OSHaRE) and the Safe 'n' Sound Homelessness Initiative Photo: Food for Families Chair , PGK. Granottier Council 2092 held a very successful “Solidarity” Chili Supper in support of the Owen Sound Hunger and Relief Effort (OSHaRE) to kick off their 2017 “40 Cans For Lent” campaign . The spark plugs behind “40 Cans for Lent” are Past Grand Knight James Hachey and Financial Secretary, Jim Cummings. The idea of a simple, straightforward one-can-per-day donation is inspired by Christ’s 40 days of fasting in the desert. Granottier Council #2O92 & Assembly #3432 bring the "Special Olympics Flag Relay" to visit the Special Olympics Swim Team practice at the Owen Sound YMCA/Julie McArthur Recreation Centre. The Flag was paraded around the Pool area, O' Canada was sung and all present were invited to sign the flag. In addition the 12 Knights present ,the event was attended by 30+ athletes, coaches & volunteers. Guests included the Local MPP , County Warden, acting Owen Sound Mayor & City Councillors. The District Deputy & District Warden were also in attendance
