Submitted by Bill Pelletier, F.S.On December 5, 2017, a basketball free throw competition was sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Wm. Fitzgerald Council 6091. This competition was held at St. Mary’s Catholic School, Hagersville. On Friday, December 22, 2017,at an Awards Assembly, Greg Lougheed, Grand Knight, presented certificates to the students with the most points in the various levels of the competition. Submitted by Dave Orosz, Grand KnightOn December 2nd, Council 8919 hosted our Annual Lenten Turkey Dinner in the Family Center of Our Lady of the Atonement Parish. This evening is dedicated to the parishioners, council members and our families. One Hundred and forty guests were treated to a fantastic dinner which included turkey with all the trimmings, mashed potatoes, green beans, topped off with pumpkin pie; all prepared by the Council Cooking Team.

Submitted by Dave Orosz, Grand KnightOn Tuesday December 5th, Council 8919 hosted our annual Light-up for Christmas event. The evening began at 7:00 PM with Mass, celebrated by our Spiritual Leader Fr. Rob Rocheleau, followed by the lighting of our outdoor Nativity and Keep Christ in Christmas sign. The children, parishioners and members were then treated to Hot Chocolate and Cookies provided by our Council. Special thanks to Brothers Vern Gannon, Mike MacLellan, Mike Agius and PGK Greg MacDonald for setting up the Nativity, sign and lights.

The parents and students from the Parish schools attended the Mass followed by the lighting of the Tree in front of the Church. The pastor of St. Gregory Father Katzenberger officiated at the ceremony.

The Kingsville K of C resurrected their New Coats for Kids Campaign this Fall after seeing a need to help supply new winter coats for students all over Essex County. On October 14th the Knights hosted a pasta benefit at the Kingsville Pavilion. Submitted by James Kay, District DeputyOn Nov.4th 2017 the Councils of District 36 in Oshawa held a "Knights to Remember" Prostate Cancer Fundraiser Gala in Memory of S.K. Wayne Lillie. The evening included a Dinner and Dance with a live band and a DJ. Both donated their services. We also held both a live and silent auctions and all the items were also donated.The total amount raised for Prostate Cancer Research was $ 18,513.44. This was presented by representatives of the 7 councils to the Canadian Cancer Society. Vivat Jesus.
