Submitted by Paul O'Neill, Grand KnightCouncil 4916 carried out their annual Free Throw contest at St. Mary of the Visitation Kids Klub on January 19/18. The Knights provided Pizza and drinks for the participants after the contest.
Submitted by Peter PederivaIn partnership with Boardwalk Gaming, Council 3909 recently donated $ 20,000 to local charities including Childhood Enfance, Alzheimer Society, CTV/Lions Christmas Telethon, St Stanislaus Church, Salvation Army and others. Total donations since our involvement with Boardwalk Gaming exceeds $ 75,000. Thanks to Gerry, Mel, Hector, Len, Richard, John and many other brother Knights.
Submitted by Peter PederivaMembers of Council 3909 once again assembled and disassembled our Keep Christ in Christmas at St Stanislaus Church, Copper Cliff display both days in balmy -5C weather. Lucky....as we all know for the rest of Advent and Christmas time the average temperature was -30C. Thanks to Peter, Robert, Richard and Oscar. Happy New Year to all and come on spring time!!
Submitted by Peter PederivaCouncil 3909 members completed another season late last fall of maintaining the grounds of the St Stanislaus Cemetery. Over 400 volunteer man hours were needed to plant flowers, trees, weed and water the grounds. Thanks to the City of Sudbury for their financial help and to Wilf, Mel, Peter, Richard, Len, Oli, Richard et al.
Submitted by SK Wilfred Gomez, DD # 87Past Grand Knight Sk Gregory and his council members received 5 Star Award for 514 % membership recruitment, and Retention, promotion of fraternal insurance and community services. DD # 87 SK Wilfred Gomez presented the award to Prince of Peace Council # 9144. The highest award a council can receive in Ontario.
Submitted by Sheldon Dixon, 1st Degree memberChildren are the most vulnerable. With sharply rising living expenses many families struggle to purchase the coats needed to stay warm in the winter. On Friday December 15, 2017, Knights of Columbus Council 8380 Father C. Mascari. Grand Knight Ralph Puzzo along with member Sheldon Dixon, presented 3 boxes of coats to the Principal Nick Frankovich at Queen Mary public school. Heartfelt thank you from the Principal Nick Frankovich.
