Submitted by Patrick Rusheleau, PGK,PFNResurrection of Our Lord CouncilFor the six consecutive year Council 13701 of the Knights of Columbus held its Substance Abuse Awareness Poster Contest in which a total of 74 participants, from four local Ottawa area Alta Vista/Elmvale Acres schools competed. The overall District 66 winner of the poster competition was Tadiwa Muponda of St. Gemma’s Catholic Elementary School who received a $50 Cash Price for her overall area win, in addition to a $25 cash prize for her school poster contest win.

K of C Special Olympics Flag Relay

We had at parish, in Cataraqui Mall for Charity Raffle sales.(Dale & Lyne Tuepah with Howard & Wendy Gallivan) We had at parish & our council meeting. Many members & friends signed the flag. We also had 2 photo ops with Special Olympics athletes from Kingston, who won medals at the winter games in Sault Ste. Marie. Fr. Ibrahim ElHaddad which is 25% of the proceeds of the Valentine Knight event that is organized annually by the council and attended by nearly 250 persons. Council #4386 – Breakfast with Santa

Holy Family Council #4386 of Windsor On hosted their annual Breakfast with Santa event for Junior and Senior Kindergarten students from 5 schools. There were 8 days involved during December 2018. There were 28 volunteers totalling 350 hours of service during the event. The council was able to raise $ 2500 which will be donated to charities which better the lives of children in Windsor and Essex County. PGK Denis Lortie and his wife Joanne are the chairperson for this wonderful event. Many thanks go out to the Lorties for their time and dedication to our event.
