Submitted by Paul JohnsonSt. John de BrebeufKingsville Council #8233 donated funds to Kingsville District High School for their construction class to build a cedar playhouse as their Grade 12 class Final Assignment. The Council then sold raffle tickets for the playhouse with all proceeds going to local charities. The winner of the playhouse donated it to Jack Miner Public School Kindergarten class. This single event helped 2 schools as well as many local charities!

At the rededication mass celebration, by His Eminence The Cardinal, Father Michael Hughes mentioned the history of founding the church in 1979. The expansion was also only made possible with many professionals volunteering and gifting their services and the generous donations of parishioners. Tout le monde a eu du plaisir inclut parent et enfant. Les petits ont apporté leur citrouille avec eux. A parish event after mass to help generate fraternity among our parishioners. A fun event for the parents and the children. The children got to take their pumpkins home thereafter.

Since we started to record the weight of the non-perishable food donations, we now reached a total of 1,044 lbs. (475 kg.). This is a great achievement and one that has made a lot of people happy.
