Students are selected with one from elementary and two from secondary schools. As well, selected community organizations are recognized for their community leadership. The Beacons of Hope event is hosted in each community during the spring in the form of breakfast celebrations where the student, parents, principal, parish priest, superintendent, director and trustees are invited. Assembly members served parishioners pancakes, donuts, yoghurts, coffee and tea following the Sunday liturgies/masses.
