The website and project were launched in Jesus The King Melkite Catholic Church and in the Chaldean Cathedral to collect donations by distributing a SOLIDARITY BUTTON to provide water, food, medicine and shelter to the Mosul and Nineveh Christians, one of the oldest Christian communities in the world, and had been entirely ousted from their traditional home land and many killed in ghastly ways. Students are selected with one from elementary and two from secondary schools. As well, selected community organizations are recognized for their community leadership. Submitted by Harold Sudeyko, Faithful NavigatorOn Sunday February 28, 2016, the Sheptytsky Assembly (#1730) raised over $1100 at the pancake breakfast at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church in Etobicoke. Assembly members served parishioners pancakes, donuts, yoghurts, coffee and tea following the Sunday liturgies/masses.
