Poulin, State Deputy.On the evening of May 26, The first Assembly of the Knights of Columbus in Ontario, Cartier Assembly 860 in Ottawa, held its annual "Ladies Appreciation Night." Our State Deputy and Lady Zoye were able to attend and personally thank the ladies on behalf of all the Sir Knights from across the province for the great contribution our ladies make to the Order. Well done ladies!

Wolff Council 798 in Peterborough. This group of brother knights meet each week at the Council's lodgings to discuss matters of general interest. You will note the Fourth degree Knight doll (upper left hand corner) it used to be given to the council with the most members present at the semi-annual District Deputy meeting. Submitted by Ontario State Fr. Paul Costello. Our State Deputy visited Fr. Paul Costello Council 9873 in Peterborough to help with an exemplification of 12 members. This event was followed by a presentation on fraternal benefits by Field Agent Vincent D'Souza. Finally, our State Deputy presented Grand Knight, Ranald Pearson, with the much coveted Best Quota Overall award for his council for this past fraternal year. 50/50 Raffle Grand Prize Winner Cheque Presentation

Submitted by State Office On May 17, our State Deputy visited St. Aidan Council #11332 in Scarborough to present the winner of the 50/50 Raffle with their cheque. On hand for the presentation were the members of the Council. Not surprisingly, this Council also holds the record for the most tickets sold which proves that you cannot win if you don't play. Congrats to the winner and for supporting the Knights of Columbus charity foundation.

Passing the Torch – D-Day Ceremony at Veterans’ House Canada.

Submitted by Bruce Poulin.On May 19 our State Deputy was invited to attend the Canadian Remembrance Torch and their "Echoes of Gratitude Tour" event held at Veterans House Canada in Ottawa. Essentially, the torch (designed by students from McMaster University) was lit from the Centennial Flame on Parliament Hill on May 10, followed by a 10-day tour in Ottawa before leaving from Toronto to Normandy, France, (Beny-sur-mer and Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian War Cemeteries and the Juno Beach Museum) and a couple of days in the Netherlands. District 100 Hockey Challenge

Greg Lougheed, District Deputy of District 100 District 100 Article from the Haldimand Press submitted by District Deputy Greg Lougheed The Knights of Columbus District 100 held their Hockey Challenge at St. Stephen’s Catholic Elementary School, Cayuga on Thursday May 9, 2024. Twenty six boys and girls ages 9 to 13 competed. A BIG THANKS goes out to Principal Mr. J. VanLeuvenhage and the Staff at St. Stephen’s.

Annual Serra Club of Hamilton Vocation Recognition Dinner

Submitted by Bruce Poulin. Liuna Station, the old train station in Hamilton saw more than 200 people attend the 21st Annual Serra Club of Hamilton Vocation Recognition Dinner in Hamilton on May 15. This annual event is a celebration to honour the Jubilarians who have served for 25, 40, 50 and 60+ years, as well as of those being ordained, adopting a religious life, or becoming a permanent diaconate. This dinner recognizes the importance of supporting and promoting vocations in our community and The Knights of Columbus are proud to be part of this event.

Donation to St. Clement Parish

Submitted by Bruce S. Poulin, State Deputy St. Clement On May 10, three representatives of our State Board visited the Pastor of St. Clement parish at Ste. Anne's Church in Ottawa. They made a donation (through the Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall) to be used for major renovations for their church. Supporting our Clergy is a critical part of putting our Faith in action as a Catholic fraternal not-for-profit organization. This support manifests itself in many ways - including donations.

Mother’s Day Food Drive.

Submitted by Joe Crane.Pieta Once again, our Holy Cross parishioners demonstrated their generosity in support of our annual Mother's Day food drive organized by the CWL and our Knights. With the help from Les Otto and a Pod from HeyRay, we delivered a much needed 5,500 lbs. of food goods to the Georgetown Food Basket. Thank you to all who helped make this such a success.
