Submitted by Paul O'Neill, Grand KnightCouncil 4916 held their annual Christmas Pot Luck at St. Gregory Church Hall on Sunday Dec. 18. The party was well attended and the families were treated to a Turkey and Ham dinner, music, a sing along and games. All in attendance thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity to come together for this sacred season.

Submitted by Christopher Turner, DD6Bishop's Charities Dinner Donation On Saturday November 26, Knights from the Diocese of St Catharines presented His Excellency Bishop Gerrad Bergie a cheque for $ 10,000.00, the proceeds from the 3RD Annual Bishop's Charities Dinner held at Club Roma in St Catharines on Saturday October 22, 2016. Planning has already started for next years event being held again at Club Roma on Saturday October 21, 2017.

PATRICK'S COUNCIL 7689 St. Patrick's Parish Council 7689 has developed an interesting relationship with a farmer, Dr. Frank Passafiume, in the Stouffville area who allows the council to glean his fields and orchards when appropriate. The Council uses the Apple produce to help the Food Bank in their food collection program. This collaboration is working well for the farmer and the Council. Thank you Dr. Frank.

The farmer called Bro. Terry O'Connor and in turn Bro. Terry called the Council for help to pick the apples, 7 times this season. The hot summer of 2016 proved to be perfect for apple growing and now that the apple picking season is over and the tallies are all in, Bro. Terry reported the largest apple picking ever for the Council with a grand total of 20,000 [...]

Submitted by Rick Stankiewicz, District DeputyAnnual Memorial Mass for District#29: The annual District#29 Memorial Mass was hosted this year by Council #11486 (Douro) at St. Joseph’s Parish on Sunday, November 6th, 2016. This Mass and Service were in memory of all the deceased members of the Knights of Columbus in District#29, as well as a memorial to all the men and women that serve and protect us and our freedom through both our military and emergency services. District#29 includes the five Knights Councils of Norwood/Havelock, Ennismore, Douro, Lakefield/Kawartha Lakes and Assumption/Keene. All five Councils supported and participated in this year’s service. [...]
