During the mass Father Edward Smith preached about the importance of supporting the education of these children, thanking the Knights of Columbus for their charitable work, and asked all the attending sponsors to stand up, then blessed and sprinkled them with Holy Water. Toronto Council, the Gold Sponsor, sponsoring 6 students, was represented by Sir Knight Peter Legris. Mr. Michael & Mrs Jeanette Zerey Elliot were the Silver Sponsors, sponsoring 4 students.
