Submitted by Harold Sudeyko, Faithful NavigatorOn February 19, 2017 the Sheptytsky Assembly hosted a pancake breakfast at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic church in Etobicoke. This annual event is always well received by the parishioners with parts of the proceeds going to help fund the needs of the church plus other activities.

The St. George Banquet Hall was full with Knights, parishioners and their families, more than 250 seats. The live entertainment, and Brazilian dancing show was spectacular. The Knights and their ladies belly danced and did salsa as well. Red roses filled all the tables. The food was a mix of Middle Eastern appetizers and main course of chicken and beef. Submitted by Danny Spano, Grand Knight and District Warden #86On Feb 15, 2017, together with the Knights of Columbus and Mayor Jeff Lehman, Barrie athletes Sam, Jade, Belinda and PJ helped raise the flag that is part of the Knight of Columbus Flag Relay. Flags are travelling across Ontario and will come together at the School Champs event in Niagara in June. Great thanks to the ongoing support of Special Olympics province-wide by the Knights of Columbus!

Submitted by Denis Gilmore, TrusteeHockey Equipment for Northern Communities Accepting a skate is Stan Beardy, Muskrat Dam Community Chief from Gilles Boisvert, Territorial Warden 4, to mark the start of a project to provide used hockey equipment for northern Ontario indigenous communities. Generous response from members and other councils in Thunder Bay resulted in the shipment of 13 large equipment bags of skates,sweaters,sticks, pads and a complete set of goalie equipment to Muskrat Dam.

EARLIER IN THE DAY, THE FLAG WAS AT THE KINGSVILLE AREA FOR MINOR HOCKEY PLAYERS AND FAMILIES TO SIGN. SUNDAY, THE FLAG WAS AT OUR CHILIFEST AFTER MASS FOR OUR PARISHIONER TO SIGN.
