The Kingsville K of C resurrected their New Coats for Kids Campaign this Fall after seeing a need to help supply new winter coats for students all over Essex County. On October 14th the Knights hosted a pasta benefit at the Kingsville Pavilion. Submitted by James Kay, District DeputyOn Nov.4th 2017 the Councils of District 36 in Oshawa held a "Knights to Remember" Prostate Cancer Fundraiser Gala in Memory of S.K. Wayne Lillie. The evening included a Dinner and Dance with a live band and a DJ. Both donated their services. We also held both a live and silent auctions and all the items were also donated.The total amount raised for Prostate Cancer Research was $ 18,513.44. This was presented by representatives of the 7 councils to the Canadian Cancer Society. Vivat Jesus.

Submitted by Luigi Carinci, Grand KnightEvery year, on the first Saturday in December, the town of Schomberg gets all dressed up and invites everyone to come and enjoy a fun-filled family event along historic Main Street filled with entertainment and parades. Attendees enjoyed some delicious food and warm hot chocolate by the St Patrick Knights of Columbus, along with the Catholic Women's League.

Submitted by Roger Richard, FSThe Knights of Columbus, St. Theresa the Little Flower Council 16005 hosted a Sunday social for the Parishioners and Friends of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus parish. Since the Parishioners supported all the Activities that the Knights of Columbus did during the year, the Knights gave back by offering a Christmas Social on Sunday, December 3, 2017. This event happens once a year, what a way to give back.

St Lawrence Martyr Council 13417

Submitted by Jaime Libaque, Grand KnightThe St Lawrence Knights of Columbus Council organized a Thanksgiving Food Drive, in partnership with the Parish Women’s Group. The food collection of non-perishable items started early in September. The donations have doubled this year reaching an all-time record of 1,465lbs. The food items collected were donated to Food Banks / distribution centers including the Agincourt Community Services and Good Shepherd Ministries. in time for Thanksgiving. Thank you letters were received from both recipients and a letter of recognition received from the local MP. A formal presentation was made with coverage from the local media.

Submitted by Jaime Libaque, Grand KnightContinuing its tradition, the St Lawrence Martyr Council organized the LifeChain. As in the previous three years we had a good attendance of Brother Knights, their families and parishioners. Even a priest from a neighbour parish joined us. This year the count was 134. A group picture was taken and refreshments offered at the end of the event. Approximately $ 400 were raised for Campaign Life Coalition.

Submitted by Jaime Libaque, Grand KnightContinuing with its tradition the St Lawrence Council organized a pilgrimage to the Martyrs' Shrine in Midland. A full bus of parishioners attended and an extra car had to be arranged. The program included Stations of the Cross. The Council was one of the five chosen to recite a decade of the Living Rosary, with ten parishioners saying a Hail Mary each in different languages.
