District 14 Councils Raise Special Olympics Flag

Submitted by Bruce SuttonOur Lady of CharityOn March 27, 2025 three councils in District 14 raised a Special Olympics flag at Thunder Bay City Hall to raise awareness about the Special Olympics and encourage the community to support these amazing athletes. Remarks were made by Bruce Sutton, District Deputy, Rob Neff of Special Olympics Thunder Bay and Mayor Ken Boschcoff, who is also a Knight. Following a cheque presentation from the councils to Special Olympics Thunder Bay, world class SO athlete Noah Filice raised the flag outside.

His apartment has one bedroom which is shared between him, his two sisters and their mother. His dream is to become a teacher. Poulin, State DeputyThe members of Club Activo 20-30 in Panama have partnered with the Knights of Columbus to store and then help distribute the more than 280 wheelchairs that arrived in Panama last January. Some of these wheelchairs were distributed in bulk while others were delivered to individuals during the delegation's eight-day visit.

Exemplification of Fourth degree in District 5 in London

Church Drive Councils in Scarborough and Orleans

Submitted by Bruce S. Poulin, State DeputyThis past weekend (March 22-23) saw a horse race between competing recruiting activities in Scarborough and Ottawa areas. In Ottawa, for example, our team was aided by our State Deputy (who had just returned from donating our wheelchairs in Panama) and our Membership Director. By the time a final count was done, they had secured 26 prospects and two transfers for Council #7873. Meanwhile, the recruiting effort at St. Rose de Lima Council #13244 saw 16 prospects. Fourth Degree Exemplification in Panama

Submitted by Bruce S. Poulin, State DeputyFor the first time in their history, members of Assembly 4004 in Panama were visited by a State Deputy and a District Deputy. The occasion for the visit was an exemplification of 43 New Panamanian Sir Knights. Assembly 4004 was the only Assembly in Panama when it was made inactive following the American military withdrawal from Panama on December 31, 1999 and most Sir Knights returned to the U.S. It was only resurrected by Sir Knights from the Fourth Degree from Ontario on May 25, 2024 and its members were formally exemplified on March 15, [...]

Our Lady of Fatima Council Breakfast

Submitted by Nicholas QuadriniOur Lady of FatimaOur Lady of Fatima Council 9742 (Ontario's leading council for membership growth), held a very successful pancake breakfast on March 23rd. Hundreds of parishioners enjoyed delicious pancakes and other breakfast favourites, all while raising funds to support the council charities. Many of the new members that joined the council in recent months were the key volunteers making this event a success.
