Coats were distributed to Langs Community Outreach, Food 4 Kids, several Schools and St Vincent de Paul Society. Council 4916 distributed 12 cases of coats in total and GK Schmalz was well received.

Submitted by Pierre ChartierSt. Patrick's FallowfieldOver 16 knights set up our life-size Outdoor Nativity of St. Patrick's Fallowfield which included our unique "Baby Jesus" that was obtained from Bethlehem and placed in the "Grotto Star" by one of our Knights on a previous personal pilgrimage. A few Knights also repaired the kneeling rails in our church while others set up the nativity outdoors!

Submitted by Pierre Chartier St. Patrick's Fallowfield Council 11271 Our Council has designed two separate, practical items which are being sold to our parishioners as a parish fund raising project. To help facilitate the message of "social distancing" we designed protective face masks with our theme of "Keep Christ in Christmas" silk screened on them as well as a practical tea towel with the same slogan in six different designs. Two great stocking stuffers that help to remind us of the true meaning of Christmas!

On October 13, 2020 members of St. Augustine, Council #16714, in Nepean, Ontario put a variation of “Leave No Neighbour Behind” into action when they offered their own “Leave No Leaves Behind” initiative to assist with their “Coats for Kids” fundraising efforts. They reached out to parishioners and the community at large, on a free will donation basis. By raking the lawns and tending gardens for responding parishioners and members of the community over two Saturdays in October, they raised $780.00. At 96, Bernie, is the last surviving WW11 veteran in the Niagara region and the last surviving charter member of Our Lady of the Lake Grimsby Council 4917. At the age of 20, Bernie’s regiment, the Stormont Dundas Glengarry Highlanders, stormed the beaches during the northern France offensive against Germany. This was a fundraiser held on Nov. 7 & 8 after all Masses. The Chef SK Mike Wo Kai Sang and his wife Lady Jackie tirelessly cooked the best spaghetti sauce. The fundraiser was organized at the request of our Parish Priest Fr. Steven Szakaczki to support ShareLife, SVDP and KofC charities.
