Submitted by SK GK Yolando FernandesSt. Barnabas ParishMembers of St. Barnabas Council 13785 held the Roses for Life Donation Drive Fundraiser at St. Barnabas Parish after the weekend masses on Saturday 23rd September and Sunday 24th September 2023 in the church narthex, in support of Life Chain Coalition and Pregnancy Support Centres (Sisters of Life). Brother Knights sold cross pins, Our Lady of Guadulape pins and Roses for Life Stickers with Prayer for Life cards. Submitted by Brother Hikmat Dandan Jesus the King World Day of Migrants & Refugees Mass On Sunday, September 24th, the Archdiocese of Toronto, in collaboration with the Jesus the King Melkite Catholic Community, celebrated a special Mass at 12:00 pm to mark the 109th World Day of Migrants and Refugees at the Cathedral of the Transfiguration in Markham. Bishop John Boissonneau, in his homily, emphasized that the universal Church is deeply concerned about the displacement of people and communities who are forced to leave their homes. He reminded parishioners that by welcoming refugees, they are, in fact, welcoming Our Lord Jesus. [...]

Submitted by SK Yolando FernandesSt. Barnabas ParishMembers of the St. Barnabas Council 13785 showed their support along with parishioners and Worthy Chaplain Fr. Fraser McLaren, by signing the Special Olympics Ontario flag after the Council Meeting in the parish hall on Wednesday 20th September 2023 The Flag Relay started on August 21st 2023 moving from one council to another of DD#63, and ends on 24th September 2023. The Knights of Columbus has a unique partnership with Special Olympics and has helped disabled athletes train for and compete in games around the world.
Submitted by Pierre ChartierRideauA second stain glass painting of the "Face of Jesus" was completed by Council 2444 to create a "merciful climate" in the Confessional Room of St. Francis de Sales Church in Smiths Falls as well as cast more colorful light in the room. The first painting of a "welcoming paraclete" was completed last fall to the inside window. Father Brennan hopes that more parishioners will partake in the beautiful sacrament of Reconciliation as a consequence. Vivat Jesus ... our Merciful Savior!
Submitted by Dan PergolesiSt. John Vianney The weekend of September 16th and 17th, the East Windsor Family of Parishes held their annual Ministries Fair, asking members of the congregation to consider lending their talents to the operation of the parish, various ministries, and membership in a variety of parish service groups. The Knights of St. John Vianney Council 9528, along with the parish Catholic Women’s League, provided the refreshments - cooking hotdogs, and serving chips, juice, coffee and dessert. The weekend resulted in a number of new volunteers, including two possible recruits to our Council.
Submitted by Schubert Restituto Maharlika The Maharlika Council 7488 organized and held a mini retreat at St. Boniface Church on Sept 16 2023. The facilitator Fr. Peter Marr touched on several aspects on the challenges to the practice of Catholicity today. The event was open to parishioners as well and attended by 47 people. Submitted by SK Yolando FernandesSt. Barnabas ParishSt. Barnabas Council 13785 held a Winter Coats for Kids Donation Drive after the weekend masses at St. Barnabas Parish, Scarborough, ON., on 16th-17th September 2023 for children (boys and girls) ages 6-12 years to donate to poor children in our community. Thanks to all the parishioners and brother knights who generously donated towards this worthy cause. We collected approx. 70 winter coats. These coats will be distributed to the poor children in our community, through the kind assistance from St. Vincent De Paul Society. The Mass was celebrated by Bishop Lobsinger and Father Khalid the pastor of both Parishes.The event included a joint picnic with games and music for the participants. Knights from both parishes helped with this event which was the first joint event with both Parishes
