Twice a year the members of St. John Vianney Council 9528 (Windsor, Ontario) host Bottle Drives for Special Olympics. Following Easter and Labour Day weekends, the drive is held the following weekend. Flyers are posted in the parish; notices are posted in the parish bulletin, and the LWDA website, as well as vial email to all the District Deputies and Councils in the Territory. All proceeds realized from the collection and donations are sent directly to our local Special Olympics of Essex County.

This year we were blessed with having the Special Olympics flag, which we also proudly displayed during the drive, inviting all those who stopped to drop off donations, to sign the flag. Needless to say we found this to be a very successful day, bringing smiles to our contributors, and with the hope of doing the same to our gifted athletes.
