JERUSALEM STUDENTS BEIT SAHOUR EASTER PLEA
To the Ontario State Deputy, David Gelinas, and the Deputy Supreme Knight, Arthur Peters, the Christian Refugee Relief Director, Bro Hikmat, and all the scholarship sponsors, Councils, the Knights of Columbus members and their Ladies.
On behalf of the Melkite Catholic Patriarchate School of Beit Sahour, near Bethlehem in the Holy Land, we send you our Warm greetings and sincere respect, I hope you are well and in good health.
These days, our school is going through very difficult circumstances that are affecting students, teachers, and the learning environment. Because of these challenges, the school is in great need of support and assistance so that it can continue its educational mission and provide a safe and proper place for learning.
Because of that, the majority of our school families are suffering from unemployment and the inability to pay their due instalments, as well to the severe decline in sources of income and the absence of tourism during this period, the financial resources that usually support the school have been greatly reduced. This situation is also affecting the ability of the Patriarchate to continue providing the level of support that the school needs in order to maintain its educational mission.
As we are living in the time of the glorious Easter season, which reminds us of hope, compassion, and helping one another, we kindly ask everyone who is able to extend a hand of support to our school. Your help, no matter how small, can make a meaningful difference for our students and the future of our community
We are sure that by your help and generous donations, through the Jerusalem Students program, we will be able to overcome this hard situation and continue our humanitarian mission in helping our community in this very important country worldwide. Contact Bro Hikmat, the Christian Refugee Relief Director 416-893 8060 or email [email protected]
We pray to be given the strength and help to continue and maintain our existence as well as our faith.
With our warm gratitude and appreciation.
