On March 27, 2025 three councils in District 14 raised a Special Olympics flag at Thunder Bay City Hall to raise awareness about the Special Olympics and encourage the community to support these amazing athletes. Remarks were made by Bruce Sutton, District Deputy, Rob Neff of Special Olympics Thunder Bay and Mayor Ken Boschcoff, who is also a Knight. Following a cheque presentation from the councils to Special Olympics Thunder Bay, world class SO athlete Noah Filice raised the flag outside.
