JESUS THE KING COUNCIL SUPPORTS CHURCH SUMMER CAMP
39 of Jesus the King Melkite Catholic church beloved children attended the Jesus The King Summer Camp 2024 hosted at the Anchor Retreat Centre in Gilmour, Ontario. The theme was “Christian Friendship: Being Friends with Jesus and others.”
The campers participated in playing interactive games including capture the flag, soccer, and an escape room experience in teams. Each day began and ended with the traditional morning and evening prayers. They began day 2 of the camp with a teaching of Divine Liturgy in which accompanying Father Timothy Mikhail explained various parts of the Liturgy. Every night’s activities concluded with sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows and telling stories as well as having some deep discussions and looking at the beautiful starry night. Thank God for a safe and successful camp this year! Thanks to Mrs Karine, Francoise, Fadi for all the pre-planning that went into it, Father Timothy Mikhail as well as all the camp councillors and volunteers who made this camp run. Thanks to the Deputy Grand Knight & Program Director Brother Hikmat for the financial support of C$ 5900 offered by the parish’s Knights of Columbus who give their support every year.
Thanks also to OLG, Bingo World and the City of Richmond Hill.
