Ave Maria Council 9494

In keeping with “the family that prays together stays together” as well as helping to build the domestic church, the Knights of Columbus of Ave Maria Council 9494 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada gave out for free blessed signage stickers(11″x3″) to parishioners in January bearing the wording Christus Mansionem Benedicat(May Christ bless this dwelling place) for them to place on their front doors. This is an Eastern Orthodox Church Epiphany feast tradition where blessed chalk is given to r worshippers for them to write the inscription 20+C+M+B+22 over their front doors; the numbers 20 and 22 signify the current year and the letters separated by crosses/not plus signs signify the Blood of Christ, and the letters, both the first letters in the latin phrase “Christus Mansionem Benedicat” as well as the first letters from the names of the 3 Magi, Caspar, Melchior and Balthazar. Christ is the door to salvation and we must all seek Him as did the 3 Magi. Ave Maria Council plans to make this an annual Epiphany feast tradition at their parish which is English and Italian speaking. The signage sticker was designed by council Bro. Trisna Wijaya.
