Coats for Kids Fundraiser.

On October 13, 2020 members of St. Augustine, Council #16714, in Nepean, Ontario put a variation of “Leave No Neighbour Behind” into action when they offered their own “Leave No Leaves Behind” initiative to assist with their “Coats for Kids” fundraising efforts. They reached out to parishioners and the community at large, on a free will donation basis. By raking the lawns and tending gardens for responding parishioners and members of the community over two Saturdays in October, they raised $780.00. Two area Catholic elementary schools, beneficiaries of past “Coats for Kids” efforts, became aware of this initiative and held their own fundraiser within their schools. Contributions were matched by one of the teachers and a total $280.00 turned over to the Knights. In total, including anonymous donations, the council raised $1,790.00 for this year’s “Coats for Kids” involvement. Overall, a great effort and a great response.
