To honour the ongoing support of Jesus The King Council, North York Harvest Food Bank presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Grand Knight Hikmat Dandan for continuously supporting the food bank over a period of 5 years, during their inaugural Community Salute on Saturday, June 1. Their Executive Director personally thanked GK Hikmat for the support during which approximately 5 tons of food were collected for the food bank. Over 47,000 individuals across Toronto were impacted last year by the food bank’s various programs. 16,000 persons use the food bank each month. The success of the program is attributed to Bro. Elias Assal, the Food For Families chairman in the council who expanded the program to collect food donations at several locations. The parishioners have also been generous in their food donations.
