Thanksgiving Message 2025-10-11T02:10:41+00:00

David GelinasDear brothers and sisters in Christ.

Psalms 107:1 reminds us “Give Thanks to the Lord, for He is Good and His mercy endures forever”.

Ephesians 5: 19-20 says “Addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and playing to the Lord in your hearts, giving thanks always and for everything in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father”.

What powerful reminders of Jesus’ agape unconditional love is forever and our thankfulness for his mercy and His love should always be upon our lips.

As we share food and drink, and while you rekindle joyful memories, hopefully with laughter, with our families and friends this Thanksgiving, may all remember that Jesus is the center of our lives.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Brother Knights,

For Catholics and Knights of Columbus, Thanksgiving is much more than a special day on the calendar. God urges us to live a life of thanksgiving each day. Being thankful to Him for all of His blessings marks us as Christians. We’ve read or sung Psalm 118:1 at Mass many times: “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good, His love is everlasting.”

Reminding ourselves of God’s love and goodness is especially important this year. It lifts us out of the sadness and depression caused by the illnesses, deaths, restrictions and frustrations of the pandemic. A worthwhile exercise this holiday weekend is to sit down with pen and paper and make a list of the ten things you are most grateful for. Not only does it praise God, it will do your spirit a world of good as well.

May you celebrate the occasion of Thanksgiving, surrounded by family and friends, by thanking Almighty God for all the good he has brought into your life. A very Happy Thanksgiving to you.

Vivat Jesus!
