Wattson Council 8919 conducted an in-person degree, inducting 5 candidates into three different Councils. Fr. Paul J.F. Wattson welcomed Brothers Nishant John and James Gillis, Windsor Most Precious Blood Council 1412 welcomed Brothers David Booker and Joe Gervais, and Mother Teresa Council 12494 welcomed Brother Nilo Colussi. Congratulations to each of these fine gentlemen who are eager to help each of their respective Councils moving forward.

Goodfellows Paper Drive

Submitted by Dan PergolesiFr. Paul J.F. WattsonOn Thursday November 23rd and Friday November 24th, members of Fr. Paul J.F. Wattson Council 8919 and St. John Vianney Council 9528 volunteered their time to help collect donations and distribute papers on behalf of Goodfellows of Windsor. Members staffed various store fronts on the east end of the city, in two separate shifts, 5:00 to 7:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 both days. Donations collected $5679.70, with an additional $1500 donated between the two Councils. Total returned to Goodfellows: $ 6179.70. Family of Parishes Ministries Fair

Submitted by Dan PergolesiSt. John Vianney The weekend of September 16th and 17th, the East Windsor Family of Parishes held their annual Ministries Fair, asking members of the congregation to consider lending their talents to the operation of the parish, various ministries, and membership in a variety of parish service groups. The Knights of St. John Vianney Council 9528, along with the parish Catholic Women’s League, provided the refreshments - cooking hotdogs, and serving chips, juice, coffee and dessert. The weekend resulted in a number of new volunteers, including two possible recruits to our Council.

Wattson Council 8919 (OLOTA Parish) and St. John Vianney Council 9528 (SJV Parish), held a joint Installation of Officers at Our Lady of the Atonement Parish, for the 2023/2024 fraternal year. Bottle Drive for Special Olympics

Submitted by Dan Pergolesi St. John Vianney Twice a year the members of St. John Vianney Council 9528 (Windsor, Ontario) host Bottle Drives for Special Olympics. Following Easter and Labour Day weekends, the drive is held the following weekend. Flyers are posted in the parish; notices are posted in the parish bulletin, and the LWDA website, as well as vial email to all the District Deputies and Councils in the Territory. Aloysius NolanAs winter approaches we are all aware of the need to provide warm winter coats for those in each of our communities who are unable to acquire them themselves. So to is the need for hats, mitts and scarves, but too often is overlooked. Brother Bruce Mackie (Warden) approached our Executive, informing us of a Knitting Club at Solidarity Towers (where he resides), who knit hats, scarves and mitts year round – asking if our Council could assist in donating some of these items to schools who were in need. Memorial Service for Knights of Columbus 2019-2022

Submitted by Dan PergolesiLondon West Diocesan AssociationOn Saturday October 22, 2022, a Memorial Service was held at Heavenly Rest Cemetery, inside the St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum, to honour all Brother Knights and the families of, who had passed away since the beginning of 2019, thru October 2022. This was done as due to COVID and the restrictions imposed, we were not provided the opportunity to properly pay our respects to these Brothers Knights. The Service was presided over by Fr. Bottle Drive for Special Olympics

Through the generosity of our local community our Council raised $250 in donations. Thank you to all who helped to support us and to each of the Brother Knights who gave their time Saturday morning and afternoon to help receive, sort and return bottles.

Submitted by Dan PergolesiDistrict 76On Sunday June 26th, the three Councils in the East Windsor Family of Parishes (Fr. Paul J.F. Wattson Council 8919, St. Vincent de Paul Council 952 and Fr. Aloysius Nolan Council 9865) held a joint Installation of Officers at St. John Vianney Parish, with Fr. Jim Higgins (Worthy Chaplain for each of these Council) and District Warden Donny Thivierge presiding over the induction. Elected Executive members of each of these Councils were reinstated or newly installed to their respective positions for the upcoming 2022/2023 fraternal year. Congratulations to all elected members of each Council.

Submitted by Dan Pergolesi Fr. Aloysius Nolan Council 9865 GK Dan Pergolesi and Lecturer Leo LeHoux met with the Principals and Vice Principals of the three schools affiliated with Fr. Aloysius Nolan Council 9865. Each school was presented a cheque in the amount of $2000 for their respective Breakfast Programs. The Council was presented with a hand-made thank you card from the students of St. John Vianney.
