Submitted by Gordon Bell Our Lady of the LakeCouncil 4917 is proud to advise that Bernard Prevost represented the WW11 veterans of Niagara and the Knights of Columbus at the Remembrance Day ceremonies in Grimsby. At 96, Bernie, is the last surviving WW11 veteran in the Niagara region and the last surviving charter member of Our Lady of the Lake Grimsby Council 4917. At the age of 20, Bernie’s regiment, the Stormont Dundas Glengarry Highlanders, stormed the beaches during the northern France offensive against Germany. Our Lady of the Lake Council 4917 is holding their annual Fraternal Night at the Grimsby Peach King Centre, 162 Livingston Ave. in Grimsby. Cost is $20.00 and includes a buffet dinner.
