Our Lady of the Lake

Council 4917 is proud to advise that Bernard Prevost represented the WW11 veterans of Niagara and the Knights of Columbus at the Remembrance Day ceremonies in Grimsby.
At 96, Bernie, is the last surviving WW11 veteran in the Niagara region and the last surviving charter member of Our Lady of the Lake Grimsby Council 4917.
At the age of 20, Bernie’s regiment, the Stormont Dundas Glengarry Highlanders, stormed the beaches during the northern France offensive against Germany.
After the war Bernie moved to Grimsby and with others in 1960 he became a founding charter member of Our Lady of the Lake Council 4917.
For many years Bernie was an active member of the council and St. Josephs Parish serving the Grimsby community.
We salute and thank Bernie for his service to Canada and the Knights of Columbus.
