Submitted by BJ HarrisonSt Patrick'sDistrict Deputy 1 Harold Marcotte leads the Rosary at St Patrick’s Grotto (the home of the Venerable Father McGivney honoras) in the lower level of St Patrick’s Basilica, Ottawa on March 26th. Knights and their families from surrounding Councils joined with State Deputy Dan Heffernan to celebrate KofC week in the City of Ottawa, and Founders Day on Friday March 29th. A dinner on Sat March 30 will complete the festivities.

Dan McKeown Memorial Charity Hockey Tournament and Silent Auction

Submitted by Bill WeberHuntsvilleA Novice and Atom Hockey Tournament hosting teams from all over Ontario. Along with the hockey we have 90 item Silent Auction. The tournament runs from March 15th to the 17th at the Summit Centre in Huntsville. The tournament and auction have become a great success with tournament spot filled by last October and is our largest fund raiser of the year.

The council hosted breakfast after the 9 AM and 11 AM masses at St. Patrick’s Church in Burlington on Sunday, March 10th. A delicious serving of pancakes, eggs, sausages, bacon and toast was served and enjoyed by all.

The student was chosen by the council because his father suffers from a physical disability as SK Randy Galluzzi said that it was a chance to provide support all through his academic career. [...]

Knights of Columbus Substance Abuse Awareness Poster Contest

Submitted by Patrick Rusheleau, PGK,PFNResurrection of Our Lord CouncilFor the six consecutive year Council 13701 of the Knights of Columbus held its Substance Abuse Awareness Poster Contest in which a total of 74 participants, from four local Ottawa area Alta Vista/Elmvale Acres schools competed. The overall District 66 winner of the poster competition was Tadiwa Muponda of St. Gemma’s Catholic Elementary School who received a $50 Cash Price for her overall area win, in addition to a $25 cash prize for her school poster contest win.
