Meyer Brother Norbert Oberle of Council 4916 each year has approached schools prior to Halloween to explain what the charity, Canadian Food For Children does and how it operates. He invites the children to consider sharing their trick-or treat treats with poor families around the world. A bucket is provided for each classroom into which treats can be deposited. Coats for Kids

Submitted by Gordon Bell Our Lady of the LakeOur Lady of the Lake Grimsby brothers donating Coats for Kids to the Grimsby Benevolent Fund located in Grimsby. Our coats will be provided to children in need in our community. Our brothers volunteer their time on Wednesdays at GBF helping in the food bank. Our council has a long proud relationship with GBF by volunteering, donations and the last several years helping to keep children warm with the Knights Coats for Kids program.

So to is the need for hats, mitts and scarves, but too often is overlooked. Brother Bruce Mackie (Warden) approached our Executive, informing us of a Knitting Club at Solidarity Towers (where he resides), who knit hats, scarves and mitts year round – asking if our Council could assist in donating some of these items to schools who were in need. Meyer Council 4916 presented 5 boxes of coats to the Parish Conference.  St. Mary's St. Vincent de Paul serves three elementary and one secondary school in the parish. Members of the SVDP group, including Knights who volunteer with the society, laid out the coats for the pickup times. The only Star District Award in Ontario. This is Roger Richard 3rd Star District in a row.

Parish Lunch

Submitted by Paul O'Neill St. Bahnam Council 17627 St. Bahnam Council 17627 hosted a lunch for parishioners of St. Bahnam Church, Cambridge on Sunday, November 6/22 after the 12:00 p.m. mass.  Parishioners of St. Gregory Church were also invited to attend and enjoy Eastern food. This was the first luncheon put on by the Council. The Council Chaplain Father Khalid drew the winning ticket on the draw.

Most Reverend Canada Melkite Bishop Milad El Jawich celebrated the Jerusalem Students Mass for the intention of the students, scholarship sponsors and the Holy Land. Coats for Kids

Submitted by Roger Richard, District Deputy District 101 St. Vladimir the Great St. Vladimir the Great Council 9557 manage to collect 500 coats for Kids and Adults including coats purchase by Councils in Ottawa, but short as there were 1000 in need of coats. Now the Council will keep asking for coats for a very important event - Coats for New Comers (Ukrainian new Comers) in Ottawa.

Faith Activity – St. Barnabas Church Maintenance

Submitted by GK SK Yolando FernandesSt. Barnabas CouncilEach year, beginning Spring until end Fall, Brother Knights from KOFC Council 13785, as well as some parish brothers, maintain the Church Grounds at St. Barnabas Parish, Scarborough-ON. During this period, each week, Brother Knights help facilitate the maintenance of the Parish grounds and surrounding areas, by mowing the church lawn, clean-up, trimming branches, bagging leaves during fall, shed maintenance, dumping garbage in the dumpsters, etc. Thanks to all Brother Knights that continue to do each year, these good works of charity and supporting our Parish Pastor with the upkeep of the Church grounds.
