Submitted by Nicholas Quadrini Sir Guy Mills Council 1124 Grand Knight Mike Perrault and I recently at the Peterborough Rectory to present a gift of a Knights of Columbus gavel to His Excellency Bishop Daniel Miehm. The Bishop was very happy to receive his gift. It was an informal presentation, meant as a small gesture of appreciation for attending Sir Guy Mill’s Council dinner and for being the Guest Speaker. The gift was also intended to show the Bishop that his support towards the Order and his service to the Peterborough diocese continues to be noticed.

St. Joseph the Worker Council 9989 Grand Knight, Shane James, welcomed 5 new members while St. Gregory the Great Council 2671 Grand Knight, George Cervoni, welcomed 4 new members. They encourage and challenge each Council in Ontario to recruit 6 new members by March 15th to qualify for a free roll up banner from Supreme.

Submitted by Gregory Lougheed, District Deputy District 100 The Knights of Columbus District 100 brought the Ontario Special Olympics Flag to St. Mary’s, St. Stephen’s, Notre Dame and St. Patrick’s Catholic Elementary Schools, Hagersville, Cayuga and Caledonia ON and students various classes signed it. It is one of the 7 Flags circulating Ontario. The purpose of the Knights of Columbus Flag Relay is to raise public awareness of the Special Olympics Program. Submitted by Brother Hikmat Dandan Jesus the King Jesus the king Council 15045 launched a campaign to FIGHT HUNGER ON CHRISTMAS and donated $500 to each one of six food banks: Richmond Hill Food Bank, Knights Table, Daily Bread Food Bank, Covenant House, Scott Mission, & Society of St. Vincent de Paul. One of the Food Banks says that with their buying power, $100 will give a family of 4 access to food for over a week. $100 will also give an individual client access to meals for more than one month.
