But every once and a while, these anonymous gestures are recognized by a mark of gratitude that underscores their involvement. On March 10, our State Deputy, was the proud recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship (O.M.C.) for his service to his community (in large part to his involvement with the Knights of Columbus). Church Drive Council #798

It was impressive to see the number of parishioners who attended this Mass at the Cathedral of St. peter-in-Chains in Peterborough. New prospective members were identified and the process of having them join a Council has begun.

Artifacts donated in Peterborough

Poulin, State DeputyOn March 7, our State Deputy visited Council #798 in Peterborough where he donated the ritual artifacts from the discontinued three degrees that used to be done for new Knights joining the Order. They were donated to the spacious Columbus Hall for safe keeping and protecting our historical legacy.

Exemplification Council #9544 in Kanata

Soon they will be helping their brother Knights from this Council with their programs much to the pleasure of Holy Redeemer pastor, Rev. Paul C. Nwaeze and the Grand Knight, Nicholas Rolheiser.

Bishop Crosby’s 40th Annual Bishop’s Charity Dinner & Dance

Submitted by Bruce S. Poulin, State DeputyBrother Knights in the Diocese of Hamilton had the honour to host the 40th Annual Bishop's Charity Dinner and Dance on March 1. The celebration included an Honour Guard of twenty Sir Knights and more than seven hundred people. This effort raises an estimated $60K for charities in the Hamilton region annually. It has become a linchpin in the community support network for the Hamilton area.

Exemplification at St. Michael the Archangel Parish

Submitted by Bruce S. Poulin, State DeputySt. Michael the Archangel parish in Waterloo hosted an exemplification of sixteen new members. With the addition of these new members the parish now has more than thirty-five members and are ready to start a new Council in the parish. This will be our third Council so far this year in the jurisdiction of Ontario and the only three in Canada to date. Well done brothers!

DD Leather Jacket Presentation in Waterloo

Poulin, State DeputyThe Ontario Knights of Columbus have an internal incentive program whereby Councils and District Deputies, who achieve certain milestones, are awarded points. In other cases, they are given a leather jacket. On March 02, District Deputy #67 and State Online Chairman, Rory Facca, received his leather jacket for achieving star district in the last Fraternal Year. Congrats Rory!
