He took the opportunity to let them know that we had surpassed our membership quota for 2024-2025 today and to present his 125th anniversary Commemorative State Deputy Coin to brother Harold Lalonde for his exceptional commitment to the Knights. Well done brother!

Annual state Convention in Michigan May

Poulin, State DeputyOur State Deputy and Secretary accepted the kind invitation from SD Barry Borsenick of Michigan to attend their annual State Convention held on Mackinac Island, MI between May 21-23. Members will recall that dozens of members from Michigan attended our International "Knight" Banquet dinner in Windsor in September 2024 and that psd Walter Winkle attended our 2025 annual State Convention. It was a great opportunity to share fraternity and compare state convention practices with a view of making the Order a better service organization. Thank you Michigan!.

After eight months of preparation under the guidance of Monsignor Makarios Wehbi and catechist Mrs Claude Hanna, 10 families gathered at The Cathedral of The Transfiguration for this blessed occasion. More than 110 people came to the event - a new record since the COVID lockdowns. Glasses Collection by Council 11752 in Ottawa

Submitted by Bruce S. Poulin, State DeputyCouncil 11752On May 24, for the second consecutive year, the members of Council #11752 in Manotick held an eye glasses collection drive. In all, some 500 glasses were donated by the parishioners of St Leonard Church and local schools.. They will end up in Villa Marzo, Cordon Isabella, in Luzon North in the Philip[pines. Upon their arrival in North Luzon, the local Knights of Columbus Council, in partnership with a local optical clinic, will test the glasses and distribute them accordingly. Thank you to brother Rolando Lagmay for leading this effort.

Submitted by Bruce S. Poulin, State DeputyCouncil 10061St Gabriel's Council 10061 in Burlington hosted an Exemplification for District #62 on May 18. Eighteen candidates (from St. Paul the Apostle Church and St. Gabriel's Church) became regular members of the Order, including Fr. Paul Patrick, the Pastor for St Gabriel's Parish. Even though this event was held on Victoria Day long weekend, the turnout and the interest was very inspiring. It was also one of the first official occasions to display our new travelling icon. On May 23, for example, another Exemplification took place for seven new members in the Ottawa area. Council #9557; Council #17476; Council #16005 and Council #17725 all had members that were Exemplified. Congratulations to the Exemplification team and to the new regular members in the Order.

The Knights of Columbus Maharlika Council celebrated its 45th anniversary with a dinner/dance attended by 120 members and guests at the Rouge River Community Centre in Markham, Ontario. Founded on January 9, 1980, Maharlika was the first all Filipino council established in Canada. With no fixed church address, the council brought the Filipino Catholic experience to Canada and introduced them to the parish communities they served in the Toronto area.
