Christmas Gift to Veterans House Canada

Poulin; and Lady Zoye visited Veterans House Canada - Ottawa on December 23, to drop off a box filled with scarves, toques and gloves for the Veterans living at the facility to help them with the cold winter months ahead. These items are in addition to the Coats for Veterans that were donated on October 30. Thank you to the members of Council #8233 in Kingsville and their ladies for the kind donation just in time for Christmas.

Submitted by GK SK Yolando FernandesSt. Barnabas ParishBetween December 12, 19 and 24, brother Knights of Council 13785 helped decorate the church by installing the indoor & outdoor cribs, putting up the fresh Christmas trees & lights, decorate the entire church,etc. Each group were assigned different tasks to ignite the church with the spirit of keeping Christ in Christmas alive. We also recruited one new e-member. Thanks to all brother knights that volunteered their time for a worthy cause and showed their support to our pastoral team.

Poulin, State DeputySt. Christopher's Council 12372Our State Deputy was the guest of Honour at the 25th anniversary Banquet Dinner for St. Christopher's Council 12372 in Mississauga held on December 14. More than 90 members, their ladies, families and friends attended the Banquet event. The dinner included cake, and a powerpoint presentation reviewing the council's achievements and impact on their community for the past 25 years and counting.

Our State deputy paid a visit, wished them a Merry Christmas and offered to help them with their delivery of Christmas food baskets. Regan Knights of Columbus Council 3909, and his wife Betty first came to Mazatlan in 1986 and now live among many friends that also support his non-profit organization, Amigos del Centro Comunitario Familia A.C. in Mazatlan, Mexico. "FOOD FOR FAMILY'S" Pictured left to right Ron Cambridge Community Director, Grand Knight Roland Besner and Norm's kind lady. We support two parishes in our community and this year we decided to contact the Pastors to recommend each three familes in need. Our Council budgeted $ 1,500.00 on this program. This program has taught us of the great need that is out there in supporting families.

Along with the Knights, St. Nicholas handed out Candy "J" Canes to the over 80 attendees of the breakfast. Jesus is the the Reason for the Season. St. Mary's & Holy Name if Mary parishioners were all given a "J" Cane after weekend Masses. The photo shows St. Nicholas( Fr. Stéphane Pouliot, Chaplain) with Randy Zorgel & John Kordos.

Council 485 Blessing of the Creche

Submitted by Bruce S. Poulin, State DeputyCouncil 485Council 485 held its annual blessing of the Crèche in front of St. Patrick's Basilica in Ottawa on December 11th. A tradition dating back over 10 years, Council Chaplain Fr. Michael Nwadinobi led council members, wives, and parishioners in a procession around the church while members of the parish choir sang traditional advent and Christmas hymns. After the event, everyone got to enjoy a delicious potluck dinner and Christmas cookies celebrating the end of a great year, while looking forward to the council's 125th anniversary in January.
