Membership Recruitment Drive

Submitted by KofC Ontario State Council Pioneer Council 485 at St Patrick Basilica conducted its membership recruitment drive over the weekend of October 21-22, 2023. Six Masses followed by a short speech from six different members of the Order saw dozens of prospects step forward to express their interest in the Knights. Coats for Kids donation

Submitted by KofC Ontario State Council Each year the Ontario State Board officers distribute 2 boxes of coats to the needy children in their area of residence. This year State Treasurer, Joe Bodnar, was asked by St. Joseph the Worker St. Vincent de Paul Society for some assistance in providing coats for the families applying for assistance.

Councils Gather for the Miriam Center Fundraiser Dinner

Submitted by KofC Ontario State Council On the Saturday October 21, almost 200 hundred parishioners from Ottawa and Orleans gather for the annual steak dinner fundraising event for the Miriam Center. Four councils hosted the event, Councils #5925 (Orléans) , #7873 (Divine Infant), #9005 (Good Shepherd), and 11500 (Sainte Marie d'Orléans), provided all the volunteers needed to make this event a success. Bottle Drive

Submitted by Gordon Bell Our Lady of the LakeOur fourth bottle drive of 2023 was held on Saturday October 21 in Grimsby at St. Josephs Parish. Many thanks to all the parishioners and friends of the Knights who dropped off their bottles to us. The many refundable. cyclable bottles are returned the the Brewers retail and the funds go back into out community charities.

Submitted by Brother Hikmat DandanJesus the King Charitable Gaming for Community Good The Jesus the King Bingo Knights group founded & lead by Brother Hikmat, the Session Coordinator, raised charitable gaming funds amounting to C$ 25,000 that was distributed to more than 30 different charities (see logos) for the good of the Ontario community including Jesus the King Melkite Catholic Church initiatives as First Holy Communion, Canadian Melkite Youth Convention, Church Summer Festival, St Ambrose Etobicoke Mission, and IMAC Children & Youth Ministry. Archbishop Fundraiser Dinner

Submitted by Ron Hut, MIO Ontario State Council Members of the Knights of Columbus in the Ottawa area gathered on October 14, 2023 to celebrate Columbus Day with a fundraising dinner for the Archbishop of Ottawa-Cornwall and State Chaplain of the Order, Bishop Marcel Damphousse. Almost 150 Knights attended the event and raised approximately $3,700.00 for His Grace." Director of Programs, Ashly received our coats and ensured that they be help local kids keep warm this winter. On behalf of our council, thank you Ashly for all your good community work. Holy Hour – Fatima Devotion

Submitted by GK Yolando Fernandes St. Barnabas Parish Members of the Knights of Columbus St. Barnabas Council together with Bishop Charles P Greco Assembly 2113 participated and celebrated in the final Holy Hour Our Lady of Fatima Devotion on Friday 13th October 2023 at St. Barnabas Parish, Scarborough-ON. There were a total of 7 Honor Guards & the celebrant was Associate Pastor Fr. Fraser McLaren assisted by Deacon Paul Djaja.
