Light-Up for Christmas

Wattson Council 8919 withe permission of the pastor of Our Lady of the Atonement Parish (Forest Glade - Windsor), erects a nativity, a Keep Christ in Christmas Sign and decorates trees at the entrance to the parish parking lot at the beginning of advent. Prior to the Council meeting in December, the members of the parish, local community and Council are invited to attend the blessing of the nativity and sign, and to share in hot chocolate and cookies provided by the Council in the adjacent St. Francis Hall.

District Deputy 30, Barry Nicholls was the Preciding Officer, where 3 men became new members. Grand Knight Dale Tuepah welcomed new members, James Madden and Arthur Solomonian into Council 5153 Carleton Place/Almonte. Host Grand Knight welcomed William Spencer into Council 2444 Smith's Falls. Thanks to Reverend Father Deng & Father Gan for their permission. The Knights of Columbus dignitary and speaker was Sir Knight Jason Kwok. The Honor Guard was provided by All Saints of China Assembly supported by St. John Paul II Assembly. Nativity Scene & Keep Christ in Christmas

Submitted by Roy HagelLeo CouncilEach year at the start of Advent, the Knights of Leo Council 1130 build a Nativity Scene in a Public Park in Thunder Bay across from St. Andrew's Church for all the Public to enjoy. This practise started in 1955 with the purchase of Statues and material to build the Nativity Scene. 68 years later the practise continues of Building the Nativity Scene and erecting "Keep Christ in Christmas" billboards at our Church's and Catholic Cemetery at the start of Advent until the Feast of Epiphany.

Past State Deputies Plaque Presentation

Submitted by State Office  Ontario Past State Deputies gathered for the Mid-Year District Deputy Workshop where they presented our State Deputy, Bruce S. Poulin, with the first of three plaques listing all of the past state deputies for Ontario. Our current State Deputy is the 60th one for Ontario and the sixth one to belong to Council 485 - a record for the province. While the plaques are intended to promote our legacy, the PSDs also found time to show their support for the current State Deputy's Quebec + 1 Strategic Action Plan.

Wattson Council 8919 conducted an in-person degree, inducting 5 candidates into three different Councils. Fr. Paul J.F. Wattson welcomed Brothers Nishant John and James Gillis, Windsor Most Precious Blood Council 1412 welcomed Brothers David Booker and Joe Gervais, and Mother Teresa Council 12494 welcomed Brother Nilo Colussi. Congratulations to each of these fine gentlemen who are eager to help each of their respective Councils moving forward.
