Jesus the king Council 15045 launched a campaign to SUPPORT MOTHER AND BABY and donated $1000 to each one of the following organizations: Sisters of Life, Birthright, and St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation. Brother Hikmat, the Deputy Grand Knight of Jesus the King council and Ontario Director of Christian Refugee Relief, encourages all Knights of Columbus councils to donate to the following mentioned organizations that support mothers and babies all year round. SISTERS OF LIFE
The Sisters of Life is a Catholic community of religious Sisters serving pregnant women who are in need. Jesus the King financial support allows them to carry out the works of accompanying them and assisting with their emotional, physical and practical needs throughout their pregnancy and afterwards. The Sisters seek to serve and help these women in a way that is life giving that will foster a sense of independence and stability. The finances are primarily used for the practical supplies required by these women and their children. The Sisters of Life mission work has been carried out in the Greater Toronto Area since 2007 and relies also on charitable support and donations.
BIRTHRIGHT INTERNATIONAL
Victoria Summerhill Fox Executive Director of Birthright International thanked Jesus the King Council for their ongoing support and generosity to Birthright. “It is because of support like yours that we can continue to offer free services to people in need. As we move into the last quarter of 2024 and look ahead to 2025, material support remains an ongoing need for our families. Some of the ways Birthright will utilize your donations include the purchase of diapers, wipes, baby hygiene items and formula. Additionally, as Birthright we are here to support the mother, not solely the baby. Therefore, your donations may be used to purchase maternity clothing and postpartum essentials. Providing material support for our families reduces some of the challenges they face and gives the families some stability in challenging and changing times.”
ST. MICHAEL’S HOSPITAL’S MY BABY & ME PROGRAM
Paul Klein, Associate Vice President thanked Jesus the King Council on behalf of St. Michael’s Foundation. “I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous offer to support our cause with your generous donations. Your commitment to helping our initiatives is greatly appreciated, and we are honored by your support. I hereby confirm that any donation received from the Jesus the King Knights of Columbus Council are exclusively used for initiatives within the province of Ontario. We are committed to adhering to this stipulation to ensure that your funds directly benefit the local community as intended. Specifically, the funds donated will be directed to St. Michael’s Hospital’s My Baby & Me program and will be used to provide meals for clients of the program.
