Thanks to you, so far including this 2024 year, the Jerusalem Students scholarship program has 64 graduates. All graduates have gone into higher learning and hopefully will form successful Christian families that will grow to populate the Holy Land and strengthen the Christian presence. 85 more needy students are still receiving education scholarships. The sponsors of 2024 graduates are MS Elizabeth Roy, MR Timothy Beacom, MR Michael & MRS Jeannette Elliott, MR Robert & MRS Shirley Feik, Columbian Martyrs Assembly, Sir Knight Marwan Salem, MS Wendy Cassibault, St Rose of Lima Council, MR Oldrich Cajaneck. One of those sponsors decided to extend to his student, a Jerusalem Students scholarship for further studies. If you wish to do the same, please inform me. I also encourage all councils and Knights to gift an education scholarship to a new student for 2025.

Another development is that Jerusalem Students extended its scholarships to a new school of an Italian Congregation in Lebanon which was requested by the principal Sister Maddalena (Bahia) Hanna of Notre Dame du Mont Carmel – Fanar Principal as the sister explained the unfortunate situation of this school working in the educational field since 1904 with 1429 students and 120 teachers. The school is struggling to survive. Many children face the imminent risk of having to leave school because of the drastic and declining situation that has made their families incapable of covering the costs of education. We asked the school to identify 10 poorest student and they identified 11 students who are in dire need of an education scholarship. Sister Maddalena appealed ” Please help us to find scholarship sponsors and donate any amount you can and help us give these children the hope of a decent future”. 6 students are already sponsored for a scholarship.

Also we are already helping for the 2nd year, needy students in the Saint Enfant Jésus – Besançon Baabdath, a Catholic, French-speaking school, which belongs to the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of Saint Jeanne-Antide Thouret (Besançon). 10 students were identified from the poorest families. Only 8 were sponsored, 2 more students need help. Families in Lebanon are suffering from a complete economic and currency collapse.
